Pokémon - Childhood Revisited | Cinematic 3D Fan Art

Childhood Revisited is a personal fan-art series built around returning to the subjects that first made me want to create.

As a child, I drew constantly—first killer whales, and later Pokémon after the series became one of my biggest creative influences. Pokémon was a major part of what ultimately pushed me toward making art for video games, so this project became an opportunity to revisit those early interests using the skills I developed professionally.

The collection brings together several different modeling studies. Pachirisu and Clefable began as digital sculpting demonstrations created for my students, while Pinsir and Heracross originated as 3D-print commissions that I later adapted for cinematic rendering. Other pieces were created specifically as personal studies.

Each final image was rendered in Arnold with a focus on cinematic lighting, atmosphere, composition, and presenting the characters as if they existed within a more fully realized world. Several of these renders have become some of my most popular personal pieces and have been shared throughout the online Pokémon community.

This gallery includes the final renders alongside unshaded and wireframe views to show the underlying modeling and production work.
